gaining the upper level SIA CP license to cover your

need a recognised First Aid qualification, this is included!

Course Content
The Level 3 Certificate in Close Protection meets part of the
criteria required to gain an SIA Licence to Practise.
The qualification is recognised and listed on the
National Database for NSC Qualifications
Funding is possible for individuals and business via a number
of options, including, The Learning Skills Council, Train To
Gain, SSAFA, The British Legion, The Welsh Assembly The
Department of Work & Pensions and a number of other

The
criteria required for achieving an SIA Licence are:
Confirmation of candidates' identity:
- A Criminal records check, ensuring an applicant has
successfully completed relevant training and holds a
recognised qualification for that training.
- A current recognised First Aid Certificate, either FAW
or FPOS, you can book this if you do not currently have one.
The qualification consists of the following
fourteen units:
- Understand the legislation that is
relevant to people working in the close protection industry
- Understand the roles and responsibilities
of the Close Protection Operative
- Know the importance of threat assessment
and risk management
- Know surveillance techniques
- Understand venue security operations
- Know how to design and demonstrate
operational planning
- Know the importance of interpersonal
skills
- Know the importance of teamwork
- Know the importance of reconnaissance
- Know how to conduct close protection foot
drills
- Know the importance of planning and
selecting routes
- Know vehicle movement tactics and
operations
- Know the search techniques and procedures
for close protection operations
- Know how to apply conflict management
techniques while providing close protection
